The Lionel Collectors Club of America is thrilled to announce the update and release of three cornerstone collections in our Digital Archives: the complete four‑volume Holtmann Consumer Catalog Archives (1900–1995), the fully restored Osterhoff Postwar Instruction Sheets Volumes 1–4, and the complete run of Lionel Consumer Catalogs from 1996–2010. Together, these releases span more than a century of Lionel history, now presented with crisp digital reproduction, standardized navigation, and a clean, modern interface designed for effortless exploration.
As we continue our multi‑phase restoration project, please note that additional sections of the Digital Archives remain under construction and will return to the website as each collection is finalized. For experienced railroad buffs, there is no need to define a doodlebug as a self-contained rail passenger car with its own engine. It is a railroad’s equivalent to a street trolley, a single self-powered unit carrying passenger. These strange creatures of the rails played an important role in transportation history, keeping rail passenger service alive in underserved communities for years. The LCCA brings the excitement and adventure of the doodlebug back with the introduction of doodlebugs heralded for the Alaska Railroad and in continuing livery for the LCCA of the Texas Special.
The LCCA Alaska Doodlebug (SKU 2401760) comes in the beautiful blue and yellow colors of Alaska Railroad. And yes, the Alaska railroad did use doodlebugs.
The Texas Special Doodlebug (SKU 2401770) continues the LCCA Texas Special theme with the wonderful red, white and yellow colors highlighted by the lone Texas Star.
