The Convention Trading Hall

The Trading Hall is the heartbeat of every LCCA Convention. Beginning on Friday evening, it transforms into a bustling marketplace where members buy, sell, and discover treasures. From rare Lionel pieces to modern motive power, rolling stock, and accessories, the Hall is filled with excitement. It’s also the place to meet fellow collectors, vendors, and train clubs in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the LCCA.

Hours of Operation

The Trading Hall doors open for setup on Friday morning, as vendors and members prepare their displays. Exclusive access is reserved for registered convention attendees wearing their name badges, beginning Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continuing Saturday morning from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

After 9:00 AM on Saturday, the doors open to the public until 3:00 PM, while registered attendees continue to enjoy full access. Admission for the public is free, making the Trading Hall a welcoming space for everyone who loves trains.

Guidelines for Participants

The Trading Hall thrives on order and fellowship. All vendors, including registered attendees, must always display their vendor or helper badge, even during setup. Members who purchase a table may use it to promote themselves, their business, or their train club. Standard tables measure approximately 30” x 6’, though sizes may vary depending on the venue.

Displays should reflect the friendly spirit of the LCCA. Non‑LCCA promotions are welcome, provided they are non‑offensive and remain within the registered space. Advertising outside the Trading Hall is not permitted, ensuring that the event remains clearly identified as an LCCA‑sponsored gathering. The Trading Hall Manager oversees the Hall from setup through teardown and has the final say on what is acceptable, keeping the atmosphere positive and professional.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss It

The Trading Hall is more than a marketplace — it’s a tradition. Here, members discover rare and unique Lionel items, connect with fellow collectors and vendors, and experience the excitement of the largest marketplace in the hobby. It’s a chance to be part of the energy that makes the LCCA Convention unforgettable.

And when the tables are packed up, the fellowship continues at the Gala Banquet — the perfect way to close the convention week.
