For those who have traveled up Pike's Peak in the past, be prepared to be amazed with the ‘new” look. Back in 2018, the owners decided it was time for a total remodel of the existing track and trains that had been running since 1891. In 2021 it was re-opened after spending over 100 million on all new track, new engines, cars and snowplows. The new coaches include cushioned seats and updated interiors with large glass windows which open for great photography. They also upgraded the depot for better passenger flow, a second platform, a new gift shop, restrooms and for easier boarding a pedestrian bridge. The Summit Visitor Center at the peak is all new with panoramic viewing areas, outdoor terraces, dining options and even the famous high-altitude donuts. The entire journey takes about 3.25 hours for a lifetime of memories made.
