Planning Convention Tours for Cincinnati 2027

Oct 19, 2026

Planning the LCCA National Convention is a year‑round effort and we now to the point where rubber meets the road. Even though the hotel name, address, and meeting‑space details will not be released until the February edition of The Lion Roars, a significant amount of work has already taken place behind the scenes to shape the tour program for next summer.

In the last three weeks, our volunteer convention staff traveled to Cincinnati for an extended site visit. Their goals were straightforward: walk the hotel property, understand the flow of the meeting spaces, and spend several days evaluating tour attractions nominated by both the local tourism bureau and club members who live in or near the Cincinnati area.

What they found was exactly what we expected, far more high‑quality destinations than any week-long convention schedule could possibly accommodate. Museums, rail‑related attractions, historical sites, family‑friendly venues, and regional highlights were all represented in the nomination list. Every one of them would make an excellent tour, but the convention team must now begin the difficult process of narrowing the list to a manageable number.

That down‑selection process will take place over the coming months. The final tour lineup will be built to cover Monday, 19 July 2026 through Saturday, 24 July 2026, balancing variety, accessibility, travel time, and member interest. It is a challenging task, especially in a region with as many strong destinations as greater Cincinnati.

Again, the official release of the hotel name, address, meeting‑space details, and full tour schedule will appear in the February issue of The Lion Roars. Until then, planning continues steadily, reviewing options, refining logistics, and shaping a convention experience that reflects the best of what Cincinnati has to offer.
