January 16-17, 2016 - LCCA Arctic Run 2016 Show - Steven Point, WI (Recap)
The 2016 "Arctic Run" train event was the 19th Annual Model Railroad Show and Sale, held in Stevens Point, WI. The show was sponsored by the Central Wisconsin Model Railroaders, LTD, a non-profit educational organization. We had about 35 LCCA members and their families show at our LCCA table both days on Saturday & Sunday January 16th & 17th. They were treated with a set of LCCA 45th Anniversary billboards. We gave away five train car prizes through a random drawing during both days. We signed up one new LCCA member. The Stevens Point, Wisconsin "Arctic Run" lived up to its name as it was 15 degrees below zero on Sunday January 17th, 2016.
Fun was had talking trains with our membership and encouraging attendance at the LCCA National Convention July 25-30, 2016 in Kansas City, MO. LCCA members were impressed with the "Switching Tracks" traveling boxcar. Several members signed up to run the new 2016 S.T. boxcar. We took pictures of several members holding the S.T. boxcar. Mike Sadowski, #24423 invited us to run the S.T. boxcar on their massive layout sponsored by the South Eastern Wisconsin Hi-Railers. Mike is the Secretary of that train organization which runs "O" gauge trains. We also handed out to LCCA members the double-sided "Switching Tracks" billboard.
