Status of Tinplate - as of September 25, 2012
We have received a number of differing dates from the vendor, and although we believe they were made in good faith, I did not feel we would publish another unobtainable date. In the process, weeks have passed and we did not publish what little we do know until now.
This past week, we have received notice that the engines will be ready to ship (the cars and tender are already produced we are told) in November. With a 4-5 week on the water time, we expect these units to be here and shipped to members by year end. Should this date slip further, this info will be put on the website
"The LCCA Terrific Tinplate sets are expected to arrive before year end. The cars are finished, the tenders are built, the boxes are completed along with the add-on car. China is waiting for more locomotive parts and then they are ready for final assembly, pack, and ship. Thanks much for your patience as we all wait in anticipation for this highly acclaimed tinplate set."
