- 2025 Convention is hosted 3rd Week in July this year - July 21-July 26, 2025
November 13, 2024 - With Steamtown the goal, Scranton was the town. And with the positive response from LCCA members to its annual convention, it will take two hotels to accommodate all our expected guests. Yes, for the first time in our history the convention will be held in two hotels. The hotels selected are neighboring buildings and movement between them should be easy for most. Stay tuned for more info on which events will be held where and to help you determine which hotel fits your needs best. #LCCA2025
- Scranton is served by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton international Airport (AVP). While the airport is closer to Scranton, it is named after the nearby town of Wilkes-Barre. This naming convention was a compromise made in 1945 between Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties. The IATA airport code for the airport (AVP) came about when the airport was built in the 1930’s near the town of Avoca, PA and has not changed. AVP is served by American, United, and Breeze air lines.

September 15, 2024 - In 2022 the convention was held in the Music City, this year the Famous LCCA Convention will be held in the Electric City of Scranton PA. This Electrifying convention will be one of the best ever. Can you say two train rides, both with run by’s, a coal mine tour, several museums, city tours, a trip to a Famous NASCAR track, magic, and of course Steam town. Check out the trolley ride that goes through a one- mile tunnel (yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel) the Big Boy which who knows, sit in the engineer seat? How about the tender, What will that say? We are all set for a fun filled week, be sure to register early, for some tours are very limited.

July 30, 2024 - The search for the LCCA convention logo is underway. The club is seeking a logo that will highlight the 2025 Scranton Convention while still paying homage to the Covid Cancelled 2021 Convention.

July 29, 2024 - The Convention tour team is well on its way to provide great, exciting venues for our Scranton tours. They are seeking out great venues, many of the iconic well-traveled sites in the area but have found some 'hidden gems' locations that are new to most everyone. With multiple train travel likely, and the verity of tour options there will be a great selection of tours that offer the best in Scranton and provide the best in Convention tours.

July 28, 2024 - The search is on to find the best convention logo for the 2025 Scranton Convention. There was a little seen Scranton logo prepared for the 2021 convention. As the convention was covid delayed, pins were not made, and other logo use was not needed. Our first effort will be to utilize this unpublished 2021 design as a bases for a similar matching logo for Scranton. something similar was done for Omaha. While there was no convention in 2021, its memory lives on with a revised 2025 Scranton logo. All convention logos can be found on our site
