LCCA Success and Hotel Room Rates
The 2022 LCCA Annual Convention is a HUGE success!
It is clear LCCA members are eager for a convention! After a two-year hiatus, the pent-up demand has been unleashed, to an even greater degree than we convention planners could have expected. And that kind of success often comes some growing pains.
The original signing of the contract with the Sheraton Music City back in 2018 created a block of rooms from the start of the convention on Sunday to Saturday. When the tours were finalized with an early start on Saturday, July 23 for the Grand Ole Opry concert and an all-day Sunday train ride, the LCCA went back to the hotel for an extension of the block to cover Friday and Saturday nights.
As in past years, the size of our block was determined by estimating prior convention trends and occupancy rates against room blocks. But in post-Covid 2022, these trends have changed significantly. The response to the early in the week tours have far surpassed earlier expectations. The result is that our room block guarantee has been greatly exceeded and while the hotel has offered us more rooms, they are at the higher rate.
The LCCA has negotiated an addendum to our contract allocating additional rooms for Friday through Monday July 22-25 (note - was Sunday). The convention registrations for those days exceeded our room block – but with the new addendum and more rooms added, they are at a higher rate - $179/night. Members wanting to attend the convention and stay at the host hotel should make their reservations early, as even with the addendum, room nights throughout convention week are approaching are contract limit on the LCCA book.
Members making reservations can get the contracted rate of $149 for Tuesday – Friday (was Monday-Friday) in one of two ways:
- Call the Hotel Room Manager – call the hotel number (615-885-2200) and ask for Brantley or call Brantley direct at 615-231-1242
- Use the online Hotel portal from the LCCA site or by clicking this link - LCCA 2022 Annual Conference - Start your reservation (passkey.com). When using this link, use the drop-down box and choose your stay. If you stay starting before Tuesday (was Monday) July 25 you must make TWO reservations – one at $179 for a Friday-Monday stay and a second for a Tuesday-Saturday stay at $149. Hotel says there will be no room change or room change charges.
