Lionel Train Artist Angela Trotta Thomas to Conduct a Class

The LCCA had an opportunity to catch up with LCCA member and renowned Lionel train artist Angela Trotta Thomas (RM 13961). Angela’s work has been featured on several Lionel catalog covers and on the December issues of The Lion Roars for many years.

Angela will present a “Learn to Draw a Lionel Train” class for kids on the afternoon of Friday, July 30, during the 40th annual LCCA Convention (July 25-31, 2010) at the Denver Marriott Tech Center Hotel. Junior Members and family guests who attend the upcoming Convention in Denver will have an opportunity to attend this class and meet Angela in person. There is no entry fee and no cost for materials.

Watch the video below to learn about the class, Angela’s upcoming projects, and how Angela works on privately commissioned paintings.

Angela is proud to announce Lionel’s plans to produce a new Angela Trotta Thomas steam locomotive and tender. This engine is designed to pull Lionel’s previously released Angela Trotta Thomas boxcar series. This steam engine is planned to be released in Lionel’s upcoming Christmas Catalog 2010. For the first time, Lionel is also planning to produce and sell an American Flyer S-Gauge Angela Trotta Thomas boxcar.

Angela will also display her train-hobby-related artwork for sale during the LCCA Train Show on Saturday, July 31. LCCA members from around the country will be there to buy, sell, and trade Lionel trains and train-related products at this show. Bring your entire family for a fun-filled event! Don’t miss this opportunity to meet Angela and other fellow club members.
