May 11 - Bald Knob AR Special Event Recap

The Lionel Collectors Club of America's planned Meet and Greet with Lou Caponi went off without Lou...but he was very much there through Mike Mottler (Editor of The Lion Roars) and Barrie Braden (Editor of Interchange Track) ... those who did show up came (mostly) knowing that Lou could not be here.  Lou's Doctor advised Lou not to travel.  So as a precautionary measure, Lou had to cancel his appearance.

The weather was perfect...and the ambiance created by the constant parade of Union Pacific and BNSF trains set the tone for great fellowship and lively discussion about everyone's passion for Lionel.

Mike and Barrie covered a lot of ground...from the Interchange Track to the current state of the industry.  The new Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad Section was on display for all to see.

While the group was not as large as originally planned ...as Mike and I had contacted a lot of folks regarding the change of plans for Lou....the resounding sentiment from all parties..present or not..was to convey their understanding, prayers and encouragement to Mr. Caponi. And the event generated enough interest that the LCCA has gained some new members as a result.

Yes, Lou was very much missed...but he can take pride in the fact that this organization will continue to grow...and his efforts are recognized and applauded..

Our sincere thanks to Mike Mottler,  Barrie Braden and Craig Christianson (LCCA member and owner of Arkansas Traveler Hobbies in Bald Knob, AR) for making this a fun and exciting event for all the attendees.  Thank you to all of the new members and the members who attended this holiday weekend Special Event.
