LCCA in New York City for the 2009 Holiday Season with Lionel

Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) is proud to provide you with a video clip depicting Lionel’s recent efforts to promote and introduce Lionel trains to a new generation of consumers and re-introduce Lionel trains to the people who played with them as children. Lionel has several train layouts on public display throughout the city of New York and Newark, New Jersey. These layouts—designed and built by TW Design—introduced Lionel trains to thousands of people each day of this holiday season.

On Dec. 7, 2009, Lionel and their custom-built layout display were featured on a live segment of NBC’s Today Show. The LCCA was there behind the scenes to capture and share this excitement with you. CNN was at Lionel’s new temporary retail store on Dec. 9, 2009 across the street from Radio City Music Hall, and the LCCA was again there behind the scenes. LCCA Director Ed Richter and President Al Kolis met with and interviewed Lionel CEO Jerry Calabrese. Additional portions of this interview will be posted on our website at a future date.

Watch the video below to experience Lionel Trains in New York City during the 2009 holiday season. Meet with Lionel’s CEO Jerry Calabrese. View Lionel’s layout in NYC’s Grand Central Terminal, Macy’s Department Store Display, Gateway Plaza in Newark, New Jersey (across the street from the Pennsylvania Train Station), NBC’s Today Show Lionel Layout, Lionel’s seasonal retail store on 50th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in Manhattan, and much, much more.

Lionel is sparking up interest among the many holiday shoppers and tourists during this festive time of the year. The Lionel Collectors Club of America is proud to be there in NYC along side with Lionel to capture another chapter in the 109 year long history of Lionel Trains. Thank you to Lionel and Tom Nuzzo for allowing us to share this experience with our LCCA members and guests. Happy holidays!
