LCCA Member Roger Farkash's Work Featured on Cover of Classic Toy Train Mag
LCCA member and former director Roger Farkash's work is featured on the cover and main featured story of the October Issue of Classic Toy Train Magazine. Roger, Dorcie Farkash and their team of Traingineers designed and built a fabulous layout for BNSF Railroad. BNSF Railroad commissioned Roger's Company TW TrainWorx of Dallas TX to design and build a 8 X 32' O-Gauge traveling layout which is intended to demonstrate BNSF operations and geography of their rail lines. This fabulous layout was designed, built and delivered in time for the Berkshire-Hathaway (parent company of BNSF) Shareholders meeting in Omaha NE; just a mere 138 days after given the request to build. Warren Buffet, Berkshire-Hathaway CEO said "It's a masterpiece" when he first saw this layout. Congratulations to Roger, Dorcie and the entire team at TW TrainWorx for a job well done!
LCCA Members will have an opportunity on Saturday, October 27, 2012 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM to tour Roger and Dorcie's TW Design /TrainWorx Facility in Dallas TX. We will be accepting donations at the door to benefit the local Ronald McDonald House in Dallas TX. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home for those families whose child is in the hospital receiving much needed care for their serious illness. Come to visit with fellow LCCA members, donate to a worthwhile cause; catch a glimpse of several toy train layouts in operation and new toy train layout projects currently being designed, constructed and assembled. This open house event has now evolved into a full day Toy Train Layout festival. There should be at least 6 operating layouts on display during this day-long event. Lionel's operating layout that is on display at New York's Grand Central Terminal during the December holiday season will be operating during this event. TW TrainWorx plans to have a LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular Layout in operation. This will give our members who were not able to attend LCCA's 42nd Annual convention this past summer in Norfolk VA an opportunity to see this new modular standard in operation.
