8-25-12 LCCA Special Event in North Tonawanda NY (Buffalo NY) Recap

On Saturday, August 25, 2012 the Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) went back to the Buffalo, NY area for an open house barbecue special event and home layout tour at Frank Battaglia's (RM 15408) residence located in North Tonawanda, NY. The LCCA had a very successful and popular convention in Buffalo back in 2008. So we are proud to be back in the area for a day of fun and running Lionel Trains. LCCA members and their families from all over the country attended this fun summer event. Walter and Marilyn Baumann, along with their imaginary fidget friends, made the trip all the way from their residence in Florida.

It was a beautiful sunny day with a great back yard barbecue lunch being enjoyed by all. Members had a great afternoon running Lionel trains with Frank and learning all about his fabulous layout and extensive collection of trains. Frank's layout is in great condition and demonstrates a high level of detailed scenery with a fabulous downtown building section. Our members had an opportunity to see and enjoy a layout that will be featured in a future issue of Classic Toy Train Magazine.  Frank's impressive layout was in tip top condition. We thank all our members and their families for attending this first of many future LCCA Special Events in the Buffalo area.  Our sincere appreciation goes out to Frank Battaglia for his generous hospitality and opening up his home and layout for our members to enjoy. Thank you Frank.
