LCCA Appoints New President-Elect and Secretary

On 7-14-11, during a special conference-call board meeting, I appointed and the board of directors unanimously approved Dennis DeVito to serve out the remainder of John Fisher’s terms as president-elect, president, and immediate past president. During the 2009 LCCA election, Dennis received the next highest number of votes for president-elect from our members. Dennis’ prior club experience as treasurer and secretary provides him with the necessary qualifications, skills, and experience to assume this office. Dennis has extensive knowledge of the financial aspects of running our organization. Please welcome Dennis (and his wife Phyllis) and provide him with the necessary support to make this transition smooth, transparent, and successful. I have no doubt that Dennis will provide the club with effective and outstanding leadership as your next president. Thank you, Dennis, for accepting this new role and responsibilities.

Also, on 7-14-11, I appointed and the board unanimously approved Mark Kemfer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, to serve out the remaining term of Dennis DeVito’s vacated position of secretary. Mark and his wife Sharon have been regular volunteers at our conventions and Mark has run for office during the last two LCCA elections. Thank you, Mark, for volunteering and accepting this new responsibility as our club’s next secretary.

The board of directors and I are committed to working with and assisting Dennis and Mark as they assume their new responsibilities. Dennis and Mark are solid additions to the leadership team of LCCA. We will all work hard to continue to find ways to expand and increase membership value to all of our members. We are committed to promoting and fostering interest, research, education, and ENJOYMENT of Lionel trains from 1900 to the present in particular and, by association, all toy trains in general.
