Lionel Train Days at Carnegie Science Center
On December 4-5, 2010, the Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) participated in a special Lionel Train Days event at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Lionel’s gigantic train display in the lobby—designed and built by T W Design of Dallas, TX—contained 17 operating trains. It was operational throughout this special event.
LCCA members introduced the magic of Lionel trains to thousands of children and their parents during a hands-on, two-day layout building demonstration. Children of all ages ran the Lionel starter sets on their very own layout. Children assembled and built various track plans, then decorated and accessorized the layout with items donated by Lionel and Scenic Express.
